Areas of Practice
Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Sam spent two years working as a law clerk with Spotts Fain. She also served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Henry. E. Hudson at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and as a legal intern in the University of Richmond Office of General Counsel and at the national headquarters for the League of Women Voters.
Sam earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law where she served as the Secretary of the University of Richmond’s Student Bar Association and as the President for The Parents and Allies Law Society. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Sam is proud to have been a former educator, teaching high school English and Literature at Sarasota Military Academy in Sarasota, Florida.
Sam is thrilled to launch her legal career as an attorney with Spotts Fain. She will work in the firm’s Business and Litigation sections, focusing her practice on general corporate matters.

Off the Clock
Sam grew up in Detroit, Michigan and Sarasota, Florida. With undergraduate majors in Chinese, English, and International Affairs, she has always been interested in culture, travel, and writing. During her time at Florida State University, she studied abroad at Tianjin Waiguoyu Daxue in China, which kindled a lifelong wanderlust and inspired an interest in writing poetry. Sam also lived overseas for several years in Weiden in der Oberpfalz, Germany. She currently lives in Midlothian with her beautiful wife and four incredible daughters.
