Spotts Fain PC announced today that the firm’s shareholders have elected a new slate of officers to lead the firm. The newly elected Executive Committee includes Jennifer J. (Jen) West, President; Edward E. (Eddie) Bagnell, Jr., Secretary; and Brian T. Chase, Treasurer.
Jen West joined Spotts Fain in 2001. Her practice focuses on creditors' rights, commercial litigation, insolvency, workouts and foreclosure. West serves as a member of the standing panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division. She is also a member of the Richmond Bar Association’s Board of Directors and chairs the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Committee for the Third District, Section 1.
Eddie Bagnell joined Spotts Fain in 2008. He is a litigator whose practice includes a wide range of civil litigation matters, including business torts, commercial litigation, real estate disputes, eminent domain, construction, employment, insurance coverage and defense, and estate litigation. Bagnell serves as an Executive Board Member of the Richmond Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
Brian Chase joined Spotts Fain in 2005. His practice focuses on representing sellers, buyers, developers, investors and lenders with respect to commercial real estate, corporate, and lending transactions. Chase serves on the Virginia Bar Association’s Real Estate Law Section Council.
West, Bagnell, and Chase succeed former Executive Committee members Robert H. Chappell, III, William R. Mauck, Jr., and J. Thomas O’Brien, Jr., who have led the firm since 2017. “Today’s announcement highlights a very exciting time at Spotts Fain,” said Chappell. “This is a group of great lawyers and outstanding people. We wish them the very best as they lead the firm into the future with energy, enthusiasm and vision.”
Upon her election as President of the firm, Jen West said, “I am so appreciative of the leadership and dedication of the outgoing executive committee members that have kept Spotts Fain well positioned and successful, even through the pandemic. I am excited about the opportunity to work with the new executive committee, and with everyone at the firm, to take Spotts Fain forward to even greater things. We have put together an amazing group of lawyers and staff at Spotts Fain and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.”
